Plans Renew Automatically, but Premiums May Increase

If You're Happy with Your Plan, Keep Your Plan

If you’re currently enrolled in a Medicare plan that is offering coverage next year and are happy with your coverage, you don’t need to take any action, as your current coverage will automatically renew for you.

If there are changes to your Medicare Advantage or Part D Prescription Drug plan, your insurance carrier will send you an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC). It includes updates on your:

  • Premium increases

  • Prescription coverage and how medications are paid for

  • Benefit changes and what’s included

  • Coverage rules with updates to how your plan works

  • Plan status, such as notification that your current plan is ending and you've been automatically enrolled in another plan

Plan termination notice: If your current Medicare Advantage or Part D Prescription Drug plan is not being offered in 2026, you’ll get a plan termination letter from your insurance carrier.

Reminder: If you receive an ANOC or plan termination letter,, sign into Via Benefits on or after October 15. Your Coverage Checkup will automatically compare your current plan with the new 2026 plan offerings. The results will provide you plan recommendation details so you can determine if your plan is still the right option or if another may be more cost effective.

Please note: If you have a Medicare Supplemental Policy (Medigap), your carrier will notify you if your plan is changing. You can change your plan anytime of the year, but you may be subject to underwriting.
